Film Photography
Jaden Degeyter's film photography explores memory, intimacy, and everyday moments through the texture and unpredictability of analog processes. Working primarily with 35mm film, she is drawn to natural light, grain, movement, and the small imperfections that make each image feel personal and lived-in.
Shot on Ilford HP5+ black-and-white 35mm film, this series explores intimacy through touch, gesture, and fragmented views of the body. Hands, shadows, and closely cropped figures create moments that shift between tenderness, vulnerability, tension, and control.
The work considers the body as a record of connection, examining how physical contact can communicate emotions that are often difficult to express through words.

Dispersed explores the face through drinking glasses, reflections, and shifting surfaces, fragmenting and stretching familiar features into unfamiliar forms.
The series considers perception, identity, and the distance between how we see ourselves and how others see us. Produced entirely through analog methods, each distortion was created in-camera without digital manipulation.
